Experience & Training
Experience
I am insured as a counsellor and am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) adhering to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. This means that you can trust that I am working to high professional and ethical standards and am dedicated to providing a good service.
Part of this dedication is to my continuous professional development which I maintain by attending training courses and keeping up with developments in the counselling and psychotherapy field. In addition to this I attend regular clinical supervision where I discuss my caseload, while maintaining confidentiality, with a more experienced practitioner.
I have over two years’ experience counselling in a local hospice and have spent time volunteering for a local community counselling organisation. In 2021 I opened my private practice. These settings have provided me with experience working with issues of loss, bereavement, identity loss (particularly with former carers), relationships, trauma, historical physical and sexual abuse, diversity & culturalism, anxiety and depression.
